I am passionate about helping children find confidence through their own creativity to see a positive view of who they are and what they can achieve! I always cover the Utah Core Standards in my curriculum and find ways to interest children in creative lesson plans.

A Message to Parents
Parental support and involvement is highly encouraged for the success of your first grader. To help your student perform well, I suggest the following:
Be available to read with child to read at least 20 minutes every day. This includes reading with your child, reading to your child, or your child reading to you. Studies have concluded that listening to your child read once a week yields big academic performance over time. This becomes the foundation of their academic future.

Ask your kids about their day at school. Questions should be specific so they're not simply answered with a "Yeah" or "Good." Here's a few examples; "What did you read today at school?" "Can you show me something that you learned today?" This will help keep communication open with your student. If they're struggling with something, it will be easier for them to express what's happening. If there are issues that I can help with then please feel free to discuss it with me so we can work together to find a resolution.
I'm passionate about your child's success at Howard R. Driggs. Together, we can help your second grader achieve their highest level!
